2019 Dream Cuisine Volunteers Needed

The Simi Valley Dream Cuisine is an annual food and wine festival organized by our local St. Rose of Lima Catholic parish. The funds raised by this event help our St. Rose of Lima School community, but it also helps to provide for those in our community who are suffering and in the most need. In order to put on such an event, many volunteers are needed. Those willing to dedicate time in any way possible are the backbone of our cause and are at the heart of our mission of Christian service. The Simi Valley Dream Cuisine is the area's premier FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL which starts at 5 PM on October 13th. Enjoy an evening filled with live music, dancing, and entertainment. Join us for a festive evening of tasting gourmet foods from the area’s finest restaurants, wines and beers from prominent wineries and breweries, and the best desserts around. During dinner we will be entertained by one of America's most requested “Frank Sinatra” impersonators Vaughn Suponatime. As a younger Frank Sinatra look alike and a natural Sinatra sound alike, Vaughn's celebrity tribute show spans the musical career of "The Chairman of the board" from the Big Band days through the Rat Pack nights and beyond. Helping Families in Need

For over 45 years the St. Rose of Lima Christian Service Program has been helping the families in need of temporary assistance in Simi Valley. Currently we feed over 130 families a week with bags of groceries, used clothing and in many cases we provide personal financial support to the individual families as needed. Much of our funding is provided by the Knights of Columbus through donations to Serving Those In Need Inc. We also receive funding through kind donations from the St. Rose of Lima Parish community. During the holidays there are special programs for the families and their children. At Thanksgiving each family is provided with a special meal bag along with a gift card to purchase a turkey to complete their Thanksgiving dinner. The 9th Annual Simi Valley Dream Cuisine will be the place to be on October 14th. Once again our all-inclusive festival on October 14th will feature gourmet foods from the area's finest restaurants. We will have fine wine from California wineries; beer from well-known breweries; desserts from the finest bakeries and dessert establishments. During dinner, we will be entertained by one of America's most requested “Frank Sinatra” impersonators Vaughn Suponatime. After dinner, there will also be a concert and dancing provided by the very popular “Ronny & The Classics”, who will be playing all your favorite oldies from the 50’s through the 80’s.
